My iFinder H2O has had problems with not locking on satellites. I will get a "Poor Satellite Signal" message. Previously, a soft reset would fix this annoying habit. Now, though, even a hard reset leaves me disoriented and wandering. Is there anything short of a trip to the factory that will get this unit working again? Deer hunting starts in 3 weeks, and that's when I need it most.

I'm not sure if this is related but if your GPS hasn't been turned on for a while it will need to reacquire information about the satellites. Typically this will require that it be left on for a long while (30 minutes) in a location with a clear view of the sky.

After doing this it should lock on satellites quickly at start up.

I eventually was able to get in contact with Lowrance customer support, and they confirmed that I had a malfunction. The cost of sending it in for service and a 90 warranty was only about $20 less than I could find an identical new unit on the internet. My new unit has worked flawlessly.

I find that it does take awhile to find the position when I've moved a significant distance since the last use, regardless of the length of time. But, it's never over 5 minutes if the sky is truly clear, such as on a lake. In the woods with branches and leaves overhead it takes longer to lock on.
