I have a Garmin GPSMap 60CSx, and I purchased the Mountain North mini sd for it. I want to transfer the map from the sd to my computer so I can build a set of points of interest for an upcoming trip and load those onto the GPSr. Is there a way to do this? If not, it looks like Garmin really hamstrung us with regard to user freindliness. I don't want to have to load them all directly into the GPSr. Help Mr. Wizard!!!

The SD maps cannot be loaded onto the computer; Garmin does this on purpose to prevent unauthorized copying.
This is the best reason for buying on DVD!

Basecamp can read maps preloaded on SD-cards. You can download Basecamp from Garmin.com.

Joker, I got Basecamp, but I can't figure out how to see the map that is on the GPSr. Could you give more info on how to do that?

The 60CSx has to be in 'USB Mass Storage' mode, then it will turn up as a device in the left pane. If you have other maps installed on your computer you can change the map on the 'View->Map Product' or from the toolbar.
