Since I was not given an option for a directory of my choosing during installation of Garmin's TOPO US 100K, and my C drive increased in used size by about 1.4 GB, into which directory do you suppose all that map data went? It has to be somewhere and I am asking if someone here knows that information. Gamin people on the phone said C:\Garmin, but that folder did not change by one byte.

The default folder is C:\Garmin\{map_name}.

Try searching for 0*.img as most Garmin map files are an IMG file with an 8 digit name staring with 00......img (that's zero zero).

OR -look in the Registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Garmin\Mapsource and look at the DataInstalDir key.
