I'm looking for a gps unit with large display and AV input for rearview camera. The Garmins are way expensive and duplicate features I already have. Does anyone have experience or input on this Plenio brand? Its available from TigerDirect and has good reviews. Thanks

Hi , I'm also thinking about buying the plenio 3000. Costco has it for $499.99. I just can't locate the original company who makes the plenio that why I'm going to go with costco because of their warranty. If anyone has this GPS please give info. thanks.

Millionbuy.com has it for 449.99, no rebates, no hassles. Tech support states it supports a 4GB SD card. I ordered it 2 days ago and will report once I have it. It has received rave reviews /comments on :

I think it is a GREAT buy.... But only a good workout will tell....

I got one just now and so far I am ready to return it. After working with it for at least two hours I cannot figure it out. And believe me, I am a computer specialist. The impression I get is that the product was released before the infrasture was ready for it. The manual talks about upgrading the maps by going to the web site, and the site does not work (cannot connect to it). The touch screen is slow as molasses and frustrating to say the least. Tried calling customer support, and I am asked to leave a message due to the high volume of calls. GO FIGURE...

The customer support is in the process of moving to the US, the site will be up. I called customer support last night, and a guy answered promptly and was very helpful. I've never had a GPS unit before, the plenio is my first, and I have to say, if a "computer specialist" cant figure it out, i'm amazed. It was very intuitive and simple, right out of the box. I plugged it in, it locked on, and I drove. I figured it all out while driving, and eating a sandwich.

I had one, but just returned it on 1/12/2009. it looks gooooodddddd, but it's trash. you can't turn on to play with it or try to get to know it with out plugging it in the car. it has no battery in it. it also has no map loaded in. everything is on a 1g memory card. and it wont located itself after the very first use.

I 'm lucky cause my mom just sent me a european GPS. the problem with it is that it doesn't have a USA map loaled inside. Does anyone knoes how to make it work here in the USA?
Thanks

I've owned one for almost 2 years. To be honest, I've never had any other brand before. I can tell you that mine has been of great help to me and my family. We use it a lot to get everywhere. It reroutes automatically and very fast, almost no wait and faster than the next turn unlike many other GPS I’ve heard about that take a long time rerouting. The screen is awesome, you can see in any lighting condition and very crisp and clear. I paid about $339 when other GPS of its size where over $1,000. It’s very reliable. I upgraded the OS and it now recognizes the new 2GB SD card I put in it. It doesn’t have a lot of POI’s but for the price you can’t ask for more quality product. I’ve seen them lately for less than $150 which is incredible considering the size. It has a couple of bugs but very seldom, I'd say over 99% reliable. I wish I knew how to update the POI list. I wouldn’t pay $1,000 for any GPS that only has a couple of gadgets more that I wouldn’t ever use anyway. Believe me it’s worth the money and then some.

Check it at Tiger Direct, it's a lot cheaper there.
