I am a master student and is looking for a suitable GPS receover for experimental purpose. My requirement of the GPS receiver are describes as below:

1. Support NMEA 0183 data. The $GPGSV sentences is updated in less than 2s.
2. The GPS receiver is running on a power supply. (not battery)

Kindly provide some suggestion of the suitable models.

Besides, does anyone know about the specification of Garmin 18x? (https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=157) and also Model GM-88K and VP-200? (http://www.sanav.com/gps_receivers/gps_ ... GM-88K.htm). What I mean is I need to know whether the $GPGSV sentences is updated in less than 2s?

Thanks for the information.

The specifications for the garmin 18 can be found on their website

https://buy.garmin.com/shop/store/manua ... 58&pID=223

I downloaded it and there is a wealth of technical information about sentences, transmission rates, and
frequency of update settings.
