I bought a 431s with the understanding from reading specifications and the confirmation from the sale team that it was topo map friendly and would read a topo map off the SD card. I send a message to garmin international about the availabilty of different maps and they said the 431s would only read marine maps and I was more or less out of luck as the lake that I frequent was not covered by their fresh water lake maps and only by topo maps. Has anyone used a 431s with a topo map and had any luck? I have a very limited time frame to figure this out and possibly return the unit. I am not going to be able to get an SD card with the topo map on it in time so am hoping someone can help me out.
