I am in the process of researching & buying my first portable GPS system. I haven't been able to find any information about Apple computer compatibility in regards to downloading maps etc. What brands are compatible with Macs? (EASY to download on an Apple...I'm technically challenged.

Thanks

TomTom has a mac version of their TomTom Home software which apparently allows map and firmware updates on their units. (Vehicle nav units only)

Lowrance posts their firmware updates in a mac compatible jave wrapper. (firmware updates only)

Garmin is still in beta mode, but has fairly functional apps for loading maps, dealing with track logs and waypoints, and firmware updates.
