Hi all.
We have a problem here with a GPS becker ferrari on which i install the POI Warner software from http://www.navigating.de., this soft being used to indicate radars on gps maps.

Becker gives a password to download this soft on their website, i follow instructions, install it, reset the gps as asked, gps ask me if i want to install poi warner, i answer yes, it says it s ok, done and ready to use, but i cant find it, and i have no indications of radars. When i look into image directory on gps, there are no files in it, and when linked to the computer, it only shows a directory poiwarner with an .OVM file in it. Nothing else.
It s getting me mad. Has anybody some idea, please?

Maybe we need some more detailed explanation here to make sure we all understand what you are asking.

1. What model of GPS do you have?
2. What map software do you have?
3. Where are you located?
4. What is becker Ferrari? Is it a software or hardware?
5. How are you able to see radar on your GPS maps? Does the unit have an integrated radar detector? Or do you mean you want to see the POI on your GPS? Because POI does not show active radars, it only shows a known waypoint.
6. What is POI warner? I assume it is a piece of software that can be loaded onto a GPS unit.

Give us more details, and we will see if we can help.

BTW, the link you provided only gets us to the home page. How about giving us the link to the specific page that shows the software?

Sorry, i thought i was clearer than that;)
So,

1. What model of GPS do you have?
BECKER GPS Traffic Assist Pro Ferrari 7929 Corsa rouge Europe
http://www.mybecker.com/beckerCms/www_r ... navSeq=203

2. What map software do you have?
Navigon 5, it seems,

3. Where are you located?
france

4. What is becker Ferrari? Is it a software or hardware?
hardware, it is the gps.

So, POI warner is a software that add radars as POI on maps, and tells you when your way is reaching one. For the link, i dont have it at the moment, but the link is on the site of navigon, it s not on navigating.de.
It is a special version with a different mechanism of validation.
You give your serial number and personal informations, then you received a link by mail to download the software.
When you try to get it on navigating.de, it asks to buy it.
So i think navigon and becker have a licence for this.

is it sufficient for you, or must i add details?
Thank you for your attention and help, anyway.

I think the reason no one is giving you any answers here is mainly because not too many people have your unit. So we don't know how to answer your questions, or what you are referring to.

As you can tell from my previous questions that I didn't even know which is software and which is hardware. And I'm sure I am not alone either.

Maybe your unit is very common in France, but I have never heard of it here in the U.S. Let's hope some other users will know about it.

Hang it there, and we will do the best we can. And maybe someone, somewhere, will jump in and give you some help.

Yeah, or maybe send an email to the tech support of the website/company from which you downloaded the software.

Ok,
it what i thought, so. It is right that the unit is quite expensive, so it is understandable.
Well, thank you for advices, i m gonna hang around and ask tech support (while i m not sur there is as it is "bundle" software offer).

See ya, so;)
