Is there any way to save the data shown on the Garmin Trip Computer Page? If a trip is broken up into multiple segments, it would be very helpful to be able to save the trip data for each separate segment page.

Thanks,

Don

What unit are you asking about?

Depends what you mean by "save". I don't know any way of saving the data on internal memory, or of downloading it as data to a PC but you can save it as a screen shot to a PC by using the free program xImage available from Garmin - here's the link:

By "save" I mean saving the trip information as data in the GPS unit then later downloading it to a PC.

Thanks,

Don

Well, some data is already being saved in the unit. So you should be able to download it to a computer using a variety of programs.

MapSource, EasyGPS, GPS Utility, Topo Fusion, GPS Trackmaker

Which fields in the Trip Computer Page are you interested in saving?

First, let me thank everyone who has provided answers to my original question.

I think several of the pieces of information which are displayed in the Trip Computer would be useful for later analysis if they could be saved. These would include: Trip Odometer, Max Speed, Overall Avg, Moving Avg., Moving Time, Stopped, even Elevation.

Now depending on what data are saved in the Track Log files, which can be downloaded to a PC, than many of the above items could be calculated later in software, which is perhaps what Motorcycle Mama was suggesting in his post.

So perhaps my question should be: What pieces of data are saved in the Track Log files.

Well, I'm not sure about those units, but here's what my Zumo records.

Might I suggest, there is another way. Maybe not perfect but it will save your trip computer info. You can use Garmins Ximage to take a screen shot of your GPS Trip computer page and save it as a jpg.
