The GPS INFORMATION WEBSITE FORUM uses the email address that you provide to us to send you an email confirmation. When you receive the confirmation, there will be a LINK in the text for you to "click" on. This will bring you back to our site and complete your registration process.
The reason we have to do this is to avoid email ROBOT's registration attempts so as to limit spammers ability to post on the FORUM.
1) If you register using a fake email address, your registration will be unsuccessful.
2) SOME Yahoo.com, HotMail.com, and AOL.com email addresses (and probably others) have anti-spam filters which require authentication. If you use one of these email addresses which require the Forum Registration mail system to authenticate with your email service, You MAY NOT.be able to register and you will not be able to receive advice that your postings have been replied to. PLEASE use a valid and unrestricted email address to register with us. Your email address is hidden from public view and will only be used to send a) Administrative Messages from the Forum, and b) Personal direct email to you advising you when someone answers your posting IF you select this feature and c) It allows forum members to send you a direct email WITHOUT KNOWING your email address IF you select this feature in your configuration.
3) Your email address is NOT published and it is NOT able to be viewed by forum users.
4) With the latest update to the FORUM software by the folks at phpBB, It is now possible for one of the moderators to register for you. We CAN also delete a registration for you and allow you to start over. In all cases we have tested, the email address given you by your Internet Service Provider (except for AOL) has worked fine. "Private" email services by Yahoo Mail, HotMail and AOL have been problems for some users. We would be happy if you complained to Yahoo, HotMail and AOL about this!
If ALL ELSE fails, email me your valid email address, desired username and PW using the below email button and I will manually authenticate your registration.
