I have a map of the Massauga Provincial Park and on the back are X and Y Coordinates for GPS location in NAD83 format. I have changed the settings of my etrex legend cx GPS to NAD83 but I am struggling with the format. An example of the X Y coordinates on the map are:
573673.45 (X coordinate) and 5006784.80 (Y coordinate).

Do you know what format these are in and how do I get them into my GPS?

They're most likely UTM coordinates. Try setting the Position Format on your GPS to UTM/UPS and use 17T for the zone.

Edit to add: A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO GPS - UTM

Thanks for the link to A Practical Guide. That was helpful. Now I understand.
