Posted: Wed Jul 29, 2009 2:28 pm Post subject: Why does my Nuuvi 755T keep telling me it will not acquire satellites?

My Nuuvi 755T has the annoying habit of telling me it is "Aquiring satellites" ; and will not lock on at all even after ten minutes or more. At other times the map does not show. There is no map visible, just empty white space?

Removing the unit from the mount and disconnecting the power cord, sometimes enables it to work O.K. but not every time.

I suspect somehow it is not switching OFF correctly. When mounted with the power cord, , and when I slide the ON switch; the "WhereTo" screen appears right away, without the 'disclaimer' - 'agree' screen.

Removing it from the suction mount and disconnecting the power cord sometimes solves the problem, but not always.

Anybody any idea what may be happening here?

I find this unit very frustrating ro use.
