I have a laptop running windows xp, I have the nroute program with a garmin gps 18. it all seems to work fine, so Im trying to get it to work with my TOPO program from National Geographic. would like to have real time tracking while im out in the back country. is there a way to get TOPO to work with my gps 18 ???? it does not have a listing for a gramin 18 ?

thanks for any help, I have been reading forums for 2 weeks now and have not been able to find info on this.....

Try Garmin's Spanner(link) which outputs NMEA formated data which is used by most software for realtime positioning. The Spanner program is free.
