After a lot of research, I bought the subject GPS unit. My primary interest was highway navigation between two points. I also plan on using it in the mountains of Colorado while jeeping on trails. I am also developing an interest in geocaching.

1. While using the unit in the mountains, I would prefer to use topographic, 3d mapping software. Can I remove the existing mapping software from the unit and install something like DeLorme topo software on it?

2. Not knowing how much memory is available in the 2720 (hard drive
or flash?), I don't know if it is possible to have the current Garmin mapping software and the topo software installed and simply switch between the two.

3. I know I can enter lat/lon coordinates in the 2720 as a destination, but does that automatically make it a good GPS for geocaching? What other features should be considered for geocaching use?

Thanks

Ted
