My fishing partner recently bought a Lowrance Elite 5. He, and I have Garmin 178Cs on our boats and have hundreds of waypoints. I'm more technical than he is so I got the task of converting the Garmin waypoints to the Lowrance. I used GPS Babel to convert the .gdb files to .usr but don't know how to put them on the micro SD card to be used in the Lowrance. Will anyone please help.

Hi I have no direct experience with this model but I'd suggest downloading the Lowrance GPS Data Manager (GDM) from:

http://www.lowrance.com/Downloads/

Use a separate card to avoid overwriting any map data.

Edit to add:
Warning from the download page:
Do NOT download if any version of MapCreateâ„¢ 6 is already installed.
So if you have MapCreate already installed it may be able to transfer the waypoints. Hopefully someone with direct experience with this unit will reply too.

Since this is basically a Lowrance question I'm moving it to that forum
