Greetings Y'all!

When using my eTrex 30, I notice the summary data is usually incorrect and was wondering if it was because I keep the unit in my pack or because of something else.

For example, I hiked PantherTown Valley this past weekend. Under the "Time" summary page, I get this:

Elapsed Time: 1 Day 20:40:46
Moving Time: 1:54:47
Stopped Time: 3:30:09

I know this data to be entirely wrong and therefore I do not trust anything else this unit tells me.
Obviously, I didn't do 8.1 miles in a "Moving Time" of 1:54:47.

The map created and the waypoints entered are all correct

The total hike took me just over 5.5 hours. I stopped to eat lunch and take in views for a total of 40 minutes

Yes, I totally cleared all the archived data - tracks and trip computer.

I would like solid opinions and/or experiences on what might be happening here.

The only thing that comes to mind quickly is that you may have been walking slow enough part of the time that the unit thought you were stopped. Seems like there is a filter where you can set the threshold, below which it registers as stopped. I think the factory default is 2 mph.
If you'd be willing to send me a gpx file I'd be happy to look into it more.
