When I enter my home address into my GPS, it takes me around the corner from my house. I have had guests tell me that theirs does the same thing. At a cross-street, it says to turn Right instead of Left. Who do I tell to correct this?

There are some suggestions in this discussion (link) about a similar problem. Unfortunately it will not be corrected quickly as any updates take a long time to work their way into new mapping and most users do not update their maps on a regular basis.

The maps from which they work are not perfect. My house number is 246, but the maps think it should be 460; Google recently fixed theirs, but many others haven't.

My solution has been one of 2; tell folks that if they are using a gps to go about 10 houses past where it sends them, or to enter 460 for the house number.

In your case, try to determine an address the systems associate with your location and give that to folks to enter into their GPS. Gradually these problems will become fewer.

Most of the time it's because the addresses are calculated as a proportion from 1 to 99. In other words the software doesn't put 4035 at the end of the block where it actually is, it puts 4099 there, and 4035 is about a third of the way up the block. The maps only know the block number, not actual property lines and physical addresses, and guesses by how far along the block you are.

As stated above, many locations on Google Maps have property lines and actual addresses, but that information can't be put into your GPS.
