Hi, I just recently bought a etrexVista Hcx and i cant cant a coordinate reading on the Satelite page or any where else. Is it defective or what do i do wrong.

Make sure it has fresh batteries then leave it somewhere with a clear view of the sky for a couple of hours.

It's probably because it hasn't been run for a long time or has been moved a long distance since last being on and it needs to download data from the satellites before it can determine a position.

Thanks for your pointers but i have done all that. even marking a waypoint wont give any coordinants. Defective umit ????
