I am a business owner and customers who use GPS systems or map programs always get wrong directions for our shopping center. The directions always puts our block 2 blocks down in a vacant field. Who should I contact to make sure this information is corrected. It seems all online mapping programs, GPSs etc. are wrong. I need to get this corrected so customers can find us.

There are two main map providers Navtek and TeleAtlas. You would have to contact them separately. It takes over a year to get a correction into the GPS maps and probably the same time for online. What is your address? is it a street number or what? If a street number, they often off.

Usually the GPS location is wrong if the business address is a PO Box, on a private (unmapped) road, or if it's in a rural area and was geo-coded using the ZIP/Postal Code. Business's in a town with a street number and name seem to be quite accurate.

Thanks! the Navtek and TelAtlas info. is hopefully a good start. I was not sure if it was information the city provides them or the Post Office. We do have a street address but it is the whole shopping center on our block that is totally misplaced by at least 2 blocks. Any further insight to get us located properly on all maps either GPS or on the internet would be greatly appreciated. My web site locator has us properly positioned on the map but if any one uses the get directions option they will get conflicting information between what is on the map and the written directions which is powered by Google.
