I'm thinking of buying a Garmin c550, or maybe a Magellan 4000. I've read the manuals on both and all they talk about is freeway. We like to go off the Interstate and roam around. Is the Garmin c550 any good on back roads? Or are an GPS systems good for back road, or are they mainly for major highways?

Thanks,

Rick

They should be good for "roads" but will lack smaller off road "trails". For Garmin's you can find a map viewer at the following link. http://www8.garmin.com/cartography/
