GPS POI files for all known red-light cameras in the entire US are now
available at http://www.gps-poi-us.com for your use. Please help to
maintain these files by submitting corrections and additions. Thank you.

Are they all redlight cameras or are some speed? There is no indication in the CSV file if the point is a stop or speed.

I know in Phoenix some are both speed and redlight. I believe most/all of these are redlight and none have the speed alert set anyway so they wouldn't be much good at being a speed alert.

What navigation system are you using to upload these files?

The one I have can't be upgraded without ripping apart my car.

Oz and I both have one of the x handhelds. I have a 76CSx and he has a 60CSx. Both allow the use of Custom POIs. Garmin has other systems that support the Custom POIs however I am not knowlegable of which ones.

I have the gps-poi red light camera poi's on my Nuvi. Today I made a test run on one in my area (Seattle). I was wondering if I had to be in a route nav mode to get alerts. I was NOT in the nav mode (the gps was just following and displaying my current position. When I got within around 3 blocks of the position (I was on a parallel street), the alert went off with a beep and I got the red bar telling me a camera position was near. I then made a right turn onto the street with the camera (one-way street). Now I was heading for the intersection with the camera. Once again, I got a beep and the red warning display which remained until I was through the intersection.

As far as I could tell, it worked great! I predict that we will soon see a lot more of these camera intersections in the future.

I installed these Redlight POI's in my wifes Nuvi 660I using the Garmin POI loader.. They started filling up the Favorites folder so I removed them. The 660 started hanging on "Loading Maps". Ended up sending it in for repair as nothing would clear it up. Couldn't even see the Nuvi as a drive on my PC anymore.
I will not load them again.
