Is there any updates or converted software available to update the Roadmate series? A friend gave me a 360 series w/2004 maps. I haven't found any updates available. I hate to see sucha good unit go to waste, the older maps on chip do work but newer would be better. Thanks in advance (haven't looked thru previous posting on this yet)

When you say software update, do you mean the unit's operating software, or the map software? They are usually 2 different things. I assume you are referring to the map software.

Most GPS manufacturers sell their own maps, so you can not interchange maps between different brands of GPS units. You may be able to find a used map chip on e-bay.
