I am associated with an engineering/surveying firm and need help concerning the GNSS software version 3.10.07 versus version 3.60.1. This is the software we use to download and process our ProMark3 GPS projects. We have been using, on only one workstation, version 3.10.07 for at least the last 2 or 3 years with good results. During this time we have had multiple opportunities to double check our results against hardline surveys and points. In the last few days we have downloaded and installed 3.60.1, the latest version, on a second workstation. We then downloaded two separate survey projects from our ProMark3 units to each of the two workstations. The results processed on the two different software versions are significantly and unacceptably different. Ashtech tech support will not discuss the older software version with us. They said to simply quit using the older version. The big questions that are unanswered are: (1) Why are the results different? (2) Is the data we have collected for the past several years bad data in spite of the fact that it has compared very favorably with hardline? (3) What should we do now?
