Sorry if this has been asked already.....
I have a new Oregon 450t (I'm new at GPS too  ) and want to create waypoints and routes on my computer and download them to my GPS unit so I dont have to manually enter all my waypoints with the Garmin.
I've downloaded the following (to my computer):

(1) MapSource_61511 7z setup SFX Igor Pavlov

(2) MapSourceUnitedStatesTOPOBasePackageForTheWeb Stub Installshield Software Corp

(3) AzTOPO_2.00_Install

(4) Garmin Communicator

I plugged my Garmin into my computer via USB (the Garmin screen shows.....GARMIN and a picture of the Garmin connected to a computer)

I've tried to install MapSource (#1 above) is starts the install but then gives me the following....

Previous MapSource Not Found!
Setup Will Terminate

What am I doing wrong ?????

Thanks in advance

Your Oregon came with preinstalled topomapping so I believe you did not receive a copy on disk to install on your computer? To quote from this site (link)

"while Garmin has a downloadable updated version of MapSource on their website, it requires that you have the earlier version installed on your disk. Try and install it directly, and it will abort after telling you it can’t find a previous version. There’s a way around that “earlier version” limitation that lets those with a legitimate reason install MapSource on their computer."

The same site has instructions for a work-around but you still will not be able to display the mapping from your Oregon on your PC. This is a known limitation of preinstalled maps and I don't know if this has changed recently.

Here is an easier way to install Mapsource. Unpack your Mapsource_6511-file, run 'Main.msi' and then the setup.exe.
I believe that the latest version of Basecamp is able to read maps preloaded on SD-cards.

Thank you Joker. I remembered seeing that somewhere. From the Basecamp change log (link) :

Version 3.0.1 - Added the ability to use BaseCamp with the pre-installed maps on a connected device or pre-programmed SD card.
