hi guys sorry for posting this topic just like that but i wonder if anyone can help me with some steps with the Garmin 255W

i have a device with a 2GB SD card and i would like to import a map to the device but i dont know how..

i have 2 maps one .img and the other one .mp

so plz can someone help me with this??

Normally, you can only use Garmin's maps on Garmin devices. There are programs that will process other maps to make them Garmin format, but they are not trivial.

Garmin maps need to be installed via mapsource.

so what can i do now to put one of the maps i found online!!

I've never bothered to go through the hassle; it's not trivial and I really have no need.

Really pretty easy, depending on the source filetype. Many users have tried cgpsmapper along with Garmn's mapsource quite successfully. Pay a visit to mapcenter2.cgpsmapper.com for the tools and a good assortment of compatible maps. Another excellent source is gpsfiledepot.com, where there's an extensive collection of user submitted and Garmin compatible 3rd party maps.
