How do you convert a Garmin mapsource file to a Lowrance file? I have waypoints on a mapsource file and I need to get them onto a Lowrance GPS unit. Where do i start? Thanks!

Try G7toWin, which is compatible with both of those waypoint file formats.

It should work. From either program open the Garmin file and then save it in Lowrance's format (USR I believe).

You'll need to convert it. Check out the links and advice in the previous posts above.

this thread was a little old, are these still the easiest ways to convert them or has something new come out?

I believe they're all still valid and http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/gpsbabel/ is easy (nothing to install). In addition GPS Babel is available to download as freeware (link)

GPX is supposedly the universal GPS data format and most newer Garmin units support it. What Garmin model do you have.

Note that the lowrance fishing hotspots SD card may have DRM and can't be copied.

OK I had a look at the manual and it appears that you'll need to use Garmin's MapSource program which should have been packaged with your GPS. See page 38 of the manual under the "To transfer data ..." sections.
