I have a Magellan Meastro 3100. I'm a courier and have 80 or so waypoints saved to my address book. I recently purchased a Garmin Nuvi 200w and I need to transfer my addresses. Is this possible? How? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't have direct experience with those models but there is software that supports both brands and will work for transferring waypoints, routes and tracks. A freeware program I use is GPSTrackMaker (link) but there are many others.

I downloaded GPStrackmaker but it tells me to disable NMEA protocol when using the magellan interface. I've searched for hours and can not figure this out. I'm trying to avoid asking questions here but I don't know what else to do. I'm on the verge of just returning the Nuvi, but am I going to just keep using a 3 year old unit forever? I greatly appreciate you pointing me in the right direction, don't get me wrong. But I don't even know where to start. I think if I get this magellan interface to work, more than likely I can figure the rest out.

Sorry that didn't work for you. Until someone with direct experience with the Magellan Meastro 3100 responds all I can suggest is to try other programs listed at http://gpsinformation.net/#3rdparty

Have you tryed the backup option and backup the data to the sd card?
Maybe you then can remove the card from the gps and put it into your PC.

Or
Download and install the trial version from Oziexplorer, load the blank map, connect your magellan to the pc and extract the data from the gps and save it as a .gpx file.

NMEA protocol options are mostly situated in the system settings, although I can't find it in the manual.

When you connect your gps to the PC, sometimes a drive is added in the explorer list, so maybe you can access your gps via windows explorer?

I don't have a magellan but reading the manual brought me to some ideas.

This forum needs questions to survive, so ask as must as you like, we are all here to help or get helped.
